(Lest you feel alone: many years ago, I happened to be getting a copy of The Cartoon History of the Earth signed by Larry Gonick. When I reached the head of the queue, he asked me, “So, what’s your favorite dinosaur?” That not being a question I have an actual answer for, I said, “Uh… ichthyosaur?” He GLARED at me. “That’s not a dinosaur! It’s a reptile!” This is why my copy of the work includes a Larry Gonick sketch of an ichthyosaur saying, “`Dinosaur.’ Can you imagine?”)
