I am coming to terms with the fact I might be a nerd. That is OK. If I practice long enough, I might become a geek.
Anyhoo.
A document of last weekend’s awesomeness:
FRIDAY
Drank a Newcastle, watched “Soylent Green” and petted Jake a lot. Sharked out at 11:00 PM like an old person.
SATURDAY
Went to a couple of meetings, including one about storyboards. Met with the director at Urth Caffe on Melrose, which made me feel very hoity-toity. I have no idea how that is spelled. But I put my sunglasses on and pretended to shrink from everyone’s gaze, so they would think I was famous. I might have set a world record for disappointing people.
That night I watched incredibly bad movies with my roommate and a huge posse of my roommate’s people, some of whom are also my people. Highly recommended is “Gwendoline in the Land of Tick-Tack.” Do not seek any information about this movie. Just get it and watch it. It will not let you down.
Everything I remember about this night I hear in Tom Servo’s voice.
Sharked out at 11:00 PM like an old person.
SUNDAY
Loafed around. Got a haircut at Reeder’s Barbershops. Good coupon, good beer with cutting, good painting of Muhammad Ali on the wall.
Then half of “Bender’s Game,” brown rice sushi from Famima!! and a night of D&D, sending off our beloved brawny rogue in a blaze of pretty reasonable glory as his human counterpart moves up the Western Seaboard. We will miss him, and he has opportunity for comeback whenever he wishes.
MONDAY
Me and my roommate watched the first three episodes of Battle Athletes, which I only bring up because it rocked me sockless and Tanya looks like a grown-up version of Ed from “Cowboy Bebop” and if I grow up to be Tanya myself that would be great kthx.
Also, Jake was petted.
