Black Dog!
MSNBC reports on “black dog syndrome” — where black dogs are less likely to get adopted than dogs of other colors.
Way harsh. Also way true.

Benefits of a black dog:
- Challenge for the budding photographer, and excellent subject for the line-inclined artist seeking to develop shadow and texture skills. Finding: Intellectually stimulating
- When in the back seat of a car, all you can see are smiling teeth and the whites of his eyes. Double true if your dog has a purple tongue, like Jake. Finding: Excessively cute
- Silver leeps. Finding: Also excessively cute
- Has at times smelled like leather. jasmine, coffee, popcorn and Bonne Bell bubblegum lip gloss. Finding: delicious. Possibly unrelated to being black, but you never know
I miss playing with that black dawg. Rowf rowf rowf! Who’s a good dog? *smooches*
As soon as I figure out the ramifications of breaking my lease and getting a dog, I will be adopting a black dawg.
Brown ones have trouble sticking around, apparently.
It may come down to Roomba vs. Border Collie shedding.
